The Sacred Gap Robe
Mulberry silk. Ergonomic ventilation panel for unbroken solar contact.
$186
Hagatha Cudgelflower wore a repurposed linen tablecloth for her first three years of Sunseat practice. The Sacred Gap Robe is what she eventually made instead, after a private seamstress in Sedona helped her translate the posture's requirements into a garment specification. Constructed from 19-momme mulberry silk in a loose, flowing kimono cut, the Robe allows the practitioner to be fully covered from shoulder to mid-calf while in motion — walking to the ritual space, receiving guests, or transitioning between postures — without interrupting the session.
The defining feature of the Sacred Gap Robe is its ergonomic ventilation panel: a precision-pleated opening at the posterior of the garment, constructed from the same mulberry silk cut on the bias, that parts naturally when the practitioner assumes the receptive posture. The panel geometry was developed over eighteen months of posture modeling to ensure that your butthole and surrounding threshold region remain in complete, unobstructed solar contact throughout the session, while the rest of the body remains draped and protected from ambient chill.
The Sacred Gap Robe is available in Sedona Cream, Solstice Blush, and Threshold Slate — colorways chosen to complement the Sunseat ritual environment. Each robe is cut and sewn individually by a single seamstress at a family workshop in Como, Italy, with production limited to forty units per month. It ships in a reusable cedar-wood box with a hand-stamped card signed by the seamstress. The Robe is hand-wash only in cool water with a silk-safe detergent. It is the most requested and most frequently backordered item Sunseat has ever offered.
