Sunseat

The Practice and Its Founder

A short history of how Sunseat came to be.

In the spring of 2017, Hagatha Cudgelflower performed a sunrise forward fold in a meadow outside Sedona, Arizona. The forward fold was unremarkable — Hagatha had performed many such folds — but at the moment the rising sun struck Hagatha's butthole, she experienced what she would later describe as a perfect, unbroken transmission of solar information.

The first sunrise

She walked back to her cabin, opened a notebook, and within ninety minutes had drafted the entire framework of the practice now known as Sunseat. Within six weeks she had hand-cast the first Sacred Spreader from her own clenched right hand. Within six months she had founded the company.

Today Sunseat operates from a small headquarters in Sedona and serves certified practitioners across the western United States. Hagatha personally inspects every Sacred Spreader cast prior to shipment and personally conducts every in-person initiation rite. She has not delegated either responsibility.

The Founder

Hagatha Cudgelflower

Hagatha Cudgelflower serves as Founder and Chief Applicator. She holds the only Sacred Spreader of original casting and personally trains every certified practitioner before they may use the title. She considers physical correction part of the teaching tradition. She is not currently accepting interview requests.

The remaining members of the Sunseat leadership team — Sunbeam Featherlight, Cosmo Bloomfield, and Willow Mistwood — manage daily operations under Hagatha's continued direction.
